GUIDELINES
Please read carefully as some procedures have changed from last year!
You must fill out the digital registration form using the link provided on the LAA website or found below BEGINNING MARCH 1st. In this registration, you will record your check number and date mailed or tubed. Once we receive your check, you will receive a confirmation from us. You do not need to submit a JPG of your artwork this year.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists who are current members in good standing of the LAA.

INTAKE
Monday, April 13, 2026, 2:00–4:00 PM, Palmetto Ballroom at The Landings. A guest pass for the Main Gate will be issued for both Monday intake and Tuesday show, if needed. IF you cannot deliver your work on April 13, contact Diane Hartley, 312-391-3375, dianehartley1901@yahoo.com.
DIGITAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE
(Not before) March 1, 2026, and (not after) March 22, 2026, 5:00 PM

ENTRY FEE
$30 for one entry; $40 for two entries. All entries must be for sale. Each artist will receive two (2) free entry tickets regardless of the number of entries. Additional entry tickets are $5 cash each at the door.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
​
1. All works must be originally drawn, painted, or sculpted by the artist. The work may not have been shown previously in LAA Spring Art Shows or any LAA Exhibit, including the Palmetto gallery, or online, including the online Facebook challenge or the artist’s personal or professional website or FB page. Compositions based on photographs must use photos taken by the artist or have permission from the photographer to use his/her work as reference. All works produced while attending workshops, live, online, or YouTube, are not eligible, nor are photos taken on instructional photography trips.

2. Art will be accepted and judged in the following categories:

2-D Art Categories: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Mixed Media (flat or 2-D to hang on wall), Dry Art (Pencil, Pen & Ink, Pastel, Charcoal, Crayon, Alcohol Ink, Scratchboard, and other pigmented mediums) and flat wall hanging textiles.

Note: 2-D work must not exceed 36” wide by 48” high, including frame; maximum weight is 20 pounds.

3-D Art Categories: Free standing Jewelry, Sculpture, Wood Turning, Wood Carving, 3-D Textiles, 3-D Mixed Media and other forms of dimensional artwork. Note 3-D work must not exceed 48” high including base; maximum weight is 20 pounds.

Photography: Traditional original-developed or digital photographic printed images and other printed 2-D images. Note: Photography work must not exceed 36” wide by 48” high for any dimension including frame.

Reproductions of mediums other than photography, such as giclees, are not allowed.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS
2-D artwork must be suitably wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. All fused-on-metal photography must possess the pre-approved hanger (i.e., ¾” inset frame with wire hanger); wrap-around/gallery-wrapped canvases must be professionally stapled or splined with sides painted. All works on paper must be framed, matted or floated, and protected by glass or plexiglass.

All frames, glass, plexiglass, hangers, etc. must be in excellent condition.
​
Note: During intake, the show committee/LAA Board will assess all artwork and reserve the right to ask for adjustments or refuse a piece altogether. Unusual hanging devices other than wires must be pre-approved. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry to this Exhibit constitutes the artist's agreement to all conditions set forth herein.

Accepted artists are obligated to deliver their work by show deadline.
-
Artwork that differs from the submitted application form information will be disqualified.

Artwork that has been displayed anywhere previously at a prior LAA event or LAA-sponsored venue will be disqualified.
-
The LAA Board and Show Chair shall have the final authority in accepting or disqualifying an entry.

There will be no changes to your entry after submission.

All works must have attached a tag to the back of each work (or bottom for 3D art) that includes the artist's name, title of work, category of work, dimensions, price, and artist’s phone number.

Artists may enter up to two (2) pieces of artwork (all must be for sale with appropriate fee).

All works must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show.

Artwork MUST BE picked up directly after the show on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Work remaining unclaimed for more than 30 days after the show will become property of LAA.
LIABILITY
Overnight, on Monday, April 13th, the Ballroom and Club will be locked. Jewelry exhibits will be stored in the locked banquet hall office. Every reasonable care will be exercised in the handling of the artwork submitted. The Landings Club and LAA and its officers WILL NOT be held accountable or liable for damaged, missing, or unclaimed artwork. Insurance is the responsibility and discretion of the individual artist.

PICK-UP

AWARD/JUDGING
2-D Judge: HeeJune Shin
3-D Judge: Trudy Sack
Photography Judge: Tobia Makover

Final judging and awards will be completed on the day of the show.

Ribbons will be awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, depending on the number of pieces entered.
-
No artist will receive more than one award, even if entered in different categories.
-
Any category with less than six (6) entries will have a 1st place award only.
-
LAA reserves the right to combine categories with too few entries.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
-
Entries accepted between March 1 and March 22.
-
Monday, April 13: Deliver artwork to Palmetto Ballroom between 2–4 PM.
-
Tuesday, April 14: Show, Sale and Awards 5–8 PM.

NO ONE (even LAA Members) will be allowed to view the show prior to the opening.

ALL works MUST remain for the duration of the show.

All works MUST be picked up at the close of the reception, promptly at 8 PM.
SILENT AUCTION
Registration for the optional Silent Auction is in addition to the main show registration and may only be entered after the main show registration and check have been submitted.
